CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing Bloomington MN

The Candela CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing – also called the Core CO2 – is the most powerful laser we use here at One Agora Integrative Health. With noticeable results after only one treatment, we use the Core CO2 to treat skin concerns like pigmentation, texture, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, acne scars, brown spots and rough, uneven skin.

It delivers fractional CO2 laser energy in microscopic columns, vaporizing damaged skin cells while leaving surrounding tissue intact to trigger rapid collagen production and skin remodeling. For optimal results, two to three treatments may be needed.

CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing offers benefits that go beyond what traditional laser treatments can do. Schedule your session today. Call (952) 234-5898 or contact us online to make an appointment.

What is CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing is an advanced laser treatment developed by Candela that uses a carbon dioxide laser to target and improve skin structure, texture and tone.

From superficial to deep levels of the skin, the CO2RE laser creates microscopic channels in the skin that encourage a healing response and support increased production of collagen and elastin. This powerful laser treatment can produce dramatic results.

From a light peel to deep fractional resurfacing, full thickness resurfacing, treatment with the CO2RE laser can be adapted to the individual patient’s needs. Depending on the type of procedure performed, varying periods of downtime are required for optimal healing with this treatment.

What conditions can CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing be used to treat?

Combining both CO2 resurfacing and fractional resurfacing, the Core CO2 is most commonly used to treat the face, neck and chest. It can treat a wide range of skin conditions related to aging, pigmentation and texture, including:

      • Fine lines and wrinkles
      • Sun damage
      • Acne scars
      • Brown spots
      • Rough, uneven skin
      • Static wrinkles
      • Deep lines
      • Lip lines
      • Crow's feet and other periorbital fine lines around the eyes
      • Facial and expression lines
      • Enlarged pores
      • Under-eye bags
      • Surgical scars
      • Traumatic scars
      • Age spots or liver spots
      • Uneven skin pigmentation
      • Dull or uneven skin tone
      • Skin laxity
      • Various textural irregularities

What are the potential benefits of CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

It offers several distinct safety, procedural and mechanical advantages when evaluated directly against alternative skin resurfacing methods. Rather than looking simply at what it treats, its benefits lie in how it delivers energy compared to older-generation lasers, alternative wavelengths and non-laser options.

CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing is a non-invasive treatment approach with profound benefits including:

      • Long-lasting results:
Results continue to improve over three to six months as collagen rebuilds and can
      • Simultaneous multi-depth treatment:
The CO2RE system utilizes unique dual-wave technology. Its fusion mode allows a practitioner to target both the superficial and the deep layers of skin simultaneously in a single scan pass, enabling highly tailored treatments. Many standard fractional lasers require swapping handpieces or changing lenses, involving multiple passes, to switch between shallow and deep skin layers. Because it is one of the more intensive settings on the platform, patients typically experience about 7 to 14 days of redness, swelling, or crusting when the fusion mode is used.
      • Fewer total sessions required:
Non-ablative fractional lasers leave the outer layer of skin intact, meaning you often need a 4 to 6 session treatment to see substantial effects. The CO2RE system is frequently a one to three session treatment because it vaporizes tissue for significant structural remodeling that occurs immediately.
      • Superior tissue contraction:
The wavelength of the Core CO2 laser is highly absorbable and contracts collagen fibers upon contact for immediate skin tightening.

What Can You Expect From Your CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing Session?

Your CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing will be provided in our office. Local numbing is applied prior to the session. You may feel a warm, stinging sensation as the laser energy targets fluid in the skin cells to vaporize micro-columns of damaged tissue and heat the skin layers. The duration of your session will likely depend on the conditions being addressed and your goals but normally run under an hour. Your One Agora Integrative Health specialist will discuss the aftercare you might need and the length of downtime you can expect with your treatment.

Your full appointment time may run longer if it’s your first session and involves a medical history and other new patient needs prior to your CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing session.

Is CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing safe?

CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing has a proven safety record. Your One Agora Integrative Health specialist will work with you to determine if CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing is a good fit for you, but CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing treatments are generally considered safe for most skin types and medical conditions.

Because it is a fractional ablative laser (meaning it treats tiny micro-columns of skin while leaving surrounding tissue intact), it has a safer profile and faster healing time than older, fully ablative laser treatments. However, it still carries distinct medical risks and is not safe for everyone.

It may be contraindicated for some individuals with active skin infections, open wounds, severe active acne or have taken Accutane orally within the past year. It is not advisable for those with a history of keloid scarring, poor wound healing or who have very dark skin tones without prior medical skin conditioning and conservative provider settings. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not undergo this treatment.

      When Will I See Results?

Most clients report seeing immediate results. However, the controlled micro-injury caused by the Core CO2 treatments triggers your body's natural wound-healing response, activating fibroblasts to produce new collagen, elastin fibers, and glycosaminoglycans, which occurs in the weeks and months following your treatment sessions.

Just one CO2RE Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing treatment can provide impressive results, but two to three sessions can bring optimal results.

In addition to the immediate results you will see after each treatment, over time the new collagen restores skin thickness and strength, while fresh elastin improves your skin’s elasticity, bounce, and overall firmness. The results that were visible immediately just keep getting better and better over time.
