Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

During your treatment, you’ll likely feel a light, rubber-band-like snap against your skin, accompanied by slight, temporary heat.

Your session may last anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the body area(s) treated. To raise the chance of your treatment being successful:

• don’t tweeze or wax your hair 6 weeks before your appointment
• don’t tan your skin 2 weeks before your appointment
• don’t use irritating skin products 3 days before your appointment
• arrive at the office with clean and shaven skin, bare of all cream, makeup, and jewelry

How Many Sessions to See Results?

Everyone’s hair grows differently. While you may notice hair loss about 2 weeks after your appointment, you may need anywhere between 6-10 treatments spaced at least 4 weeks apart to see your desired results.

Protocols on the body will be spaced farther apart (up to 8 weeks) than those performed on the face (up to 6 weeks). In between appointments, you may notice slower hair growth that’s also thinner, lighter, and less in quantity.

The longevity of your laser hair removal will also depend on your hair growth, and some patients may need occasional sessions to retain them.

After your protocol:

• clean the skin twice daily
• apply sunscreen and limit sun exposure
• don’t overly touch the treated area
• avoid hot baths
• avoid tanning for 2 weeks
