Hot Stone Massage in Bloomington MN

      Hot Stone Massage

A Hot Stone Massage can relieve pain, melt tension, ease muscle stiffness and increase blood flow. The penetrating heat warms deep muscle fibers so knots release and muscles relax. One Agora Integrative Health uses this type of massage to treat a wide variety of health concerns – but even people who are extremely healthy can benefit from Hot Stone Massage.

Hot Stone Massage offers benefits that go beyond what traditional massage can do. While both types of massage reduce stress and ease muscle soreness, the localized heat alters how your body responds physiologically, delivering sustained, deep thermal energy, with results that a hands-only massage cannot achieve.

With Hot Stone Massage, you can improve conditions ranging from chronic pain to insomnia. Schedule your session today. Call ☎ (952) 234-5898 or contact us online to make an appointment.

      What is Hot Stone Massage?

A Hot Stone Massage is a type of massage therapy that uses smooth, heated volcanic (aka basalt) stones to release tight muscles, ease body pain and provide overall relaxation for mind and body, and more. It uses stones heated to temperatures ranging between 130° to 145°F.

The warmth from the heated stones triggers vasodilation where your blood vessels begin to widen and blood flow increases. The wider blood vessels and increased blood flow allow for a higher volume of oxygen and nutrients to be delivered directly to the stiff or injured areas being treated. The increased local flow also helps flush metabolic waste (e.g., urea, carbon dioxide or lactic acid) from affected tissues.

The stones may be placed on your stomach, chest, face, palms, feet or along your spine. The massage therapist may also hold the hot stones, using them to gently massage your body.

What conditions can Hot Stone Massage be used to treat?

The deep, penetrating heat from a Hot Stone Massage is most commonly used to address the following mental and physical health conditions, including:
